When I ordered my Naked 2 palette back in May, Sephora was giving out free samples of 3 Stila eyeshadow palettes with online orders. I finally had the chance to give all of these products a try. The Naked 2 palette contains 12 shades (9 shimmery, 3 matte). Each of the Stila palette contains 10 shades and most of them are shimmery. I find the shimmery shades to be pretty pigmented. But the light-colored matte shades are barely noticeable. The dark color matte shades are great for filling in brows or lining upper lash lines.
Naked 2: Like most people, I really love this product. It’s great for everyday use and the pigmentation is wonderful. I’m a neutral color type of girl so this palette is perfect for all occasions. It contains some of my favorite eye shadow shades, such as rose gold, taupe, and plum. My favorite shades in the Naked 2 palette are half baked, bootycall, chopper (so pretty!), snakebite, YDK (love this shade!!), and busted.
(I apologize for the quality of these pictures. I did not have very good lighting when I took these.)
In the Light: This is a neutral palette with 6 shimmery shades and 4 matte shades (bare, bliss, sandstone, ebony). Although I love neutral colors, I wish this palette had a more variety in terms of the shades. Some of the colors are too similar for my taste. My favorite shades in this palette are bubbly and sunset.
In the Garden: This palette contains 8 shimmery shades and 2 matte shades (chinois, nectar). Like I said before, the light matte shades barely show up on my eyelid. This palette contains a large variety of pretty colors. But I seem to use this palette the least because green and bright colors look really bad on my eyes for some reason. My favorite shades in this palette are breeze, rosette, and honey.
In the Moment: Save the best for last. This is my favorite out of the 3 Stila palettes! It has 9 shimmery shades and 1 matte shade (desire). Plum looks great with almost all eye colors so I’d recommend this palette to everyone. My favorite shades are instinct, catalyst (black with purple shimmers, it’s gorgeous!), wonder (beautiful rose gold color), spontaneous, whim, and captivate. I’ve been using the shade “catalyst” to line my upper lash line with an angled brush and I really like this technique :)
Have you used any of these palettes before? What do you think of them?
