One Brand Reviews: Clinique

As some of you have probably noticed, I’m a big fan of Clinique products. Their products generally lack fragrance and harsh chemicals and I really like that about their brand. I thought it might be helpful to write a post on all the Clinique products I’ve used and highlight my favorite items (indicated with *). Clinique is very generous when it comes to giving samples with purchases (if you order from their website at the right time).

3-Step System (Combination Oily, Oily): This set includes a gel cleanser, toner, and moisturizing gel. It is often given out as samples with online orders. You can purchase each of these items separately.

*Liquid Facial Cleanser (Oily): This is a gentle cleanser that does a great job at rinsing the oil off your face without stripping away too much moisture. I’ve been using it every morning for over a year. There are also formulas designed other skin types.

Clarifying Lotion (2-Dry Combination & 3-Combination Oily): For people with combination skin, the dry combination (2) formula is great for winter and combination oily (3) is great for summer. I think this toner does contain alcohol it in so it could be slightly drying for some people.

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: This product comes in both gel and lotion formulas. Both products feel very light and they are great for spring and summer. But I don’t use them very often because I prefer day moisturizers with sunscreen in it.

*Moisture Surge: I love using this gel moisturizer in the winter! It feels very light but it’s super hydrating. Definitely one of my favorite products of all time.

Take the Day Off Makeup Remover: This product is okay for removing regular makeup. But it doesn’t completely remove my waterproof mascara.

7-Day Scrub Cream: This is a gentle scrub that can be used as a weekly exfoliator. It works for all skin types.

Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam: Sadly this cleanser did not work for me. After I apply the foam to my face, the product kind of disappears and becomes liquidy.

*Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel: Another favorite Clinique product for me! I’ve been using this product for over a year and it’s my holy grail acne spot treatment. It dries up pimples very quickly. But you have to use a hydrating moisturizer when you use this product in the winter because it could dry out your skin sometimes.

*All About Eyes: This eye cream has more of a gel-like consistency. It feels slightly oily and it’s a rich product. A little goes a long way!

*Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream: This one feels more like a lotion. It’s not as rich as All About Eyes. I prefer using this over the summer and All About Eyes in the winter.

Colour Surge Eyeshadow Quad (Pink Chocolate): The colors in this quad are really lovely. There are 2 shimmery shades and 2 matte shades. However, they are not as pigmented as some of the other eyeshadows I’ve used.

High Impact Rouge Impact Lipstick (Rosette): This lipstick has a saturated pink color with shimmers in it. The shade is gorgeous but I rarely use lipsticks at all so I can’t say much about it.

*High Impact Mascara (Black): This is one of their best-selling mascaras. It’s not water-proof but it is a long wearing formula. I really like it because it adds volume to my lashes and it doesn’t clump at all.

*Quickliner for Eyes (Dark Chocolate): I have hooded double eyelids and they become very oily throughout the day. This is one of the few products that doesn’t smudge immediately. The formula is rather dry so it doesn’t glide on as smoothly as the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil liner or Milani Liquif’Eye liner. But personally, I like using this pencil liner.

Have you used any of these products? Let me know what you think!
